It is with heavy hearts that we reach out to our community in this time of grief. Our beloved Siya passed away unexpectedly just a few days before Christmas, due to organ failure. He was only 3 years old, too young, too soon, and too unexpected. His loss is unbearable. Like any child, he leaves a void that no one else can fill. After three years of loving him as our own, we hold precious memories close, but even those can never fill the silence he has left behind. We will be holding a private memorial service on Saturday, 14 January, at Thandi House, where the children will have the opportunity to say goodbye to their youngest sibling.
We are struggling to come to terms with this tragedy and the financial burden that comes with it. We are reaching out to our community for support during this difficult time.
We are asking for donations of flowers, specifically blue/purple/white, to create a wreath around Siya's photo frame (We are going the DIY way to save on cost). We are also asking for +- 25 single (blue/white/purple) flowers for each child and staff member at Thandi House to have a turn to lay before his picture frame as they say their own personal and final goodbye. These flowers will then go with him to the funeral home as they complete the finalities of the process. If you are able to donate any of your beautiful garden treasures, please kindly let me know and I will collect them tomorrow (Friday) to ensure they remain fresh for Saturday's service. We are also looking for any small eats or something to drink after the service for the kids, just to enjoy and celebrate the life of their little brother together.
We are also appealing to those who can donate to the funeral home costs. The banking details can be found on our website at http://thandihouse.com/support.html. The cost for the funeral home services and the care of Siya's body amounts to R 10 500.00. (coffin, care of body, cremation etc)
